Day 49 Hervey Bay
Today started quite leisurely. And we have arranged for
dinner tonight and a bit of a plan of action. From here we will go to Australia
Zoo. It is only 200 odd kms from here so we expect to rock up at a van park,
unhitch and plug in and go to the zoo. From there the plan is to go to Surfers
as my Niece is there and see her for a couple of days, just enough to disrupt
her house and kids and then head on down the coast-ish. Not on it closely but
inland a little before cutting west and moving home. Well that is the plan at
the moment.
Maureen has washed and cleaned and packed and we are off to
town to get some lunch. Hervey Bay is a nice little town that reminds us of
Busselton, just not the nice beaches. We drove around the town along the
beaches and found a lovely picnic spot and Maureen bought some bits and pieces
for lunch.

From the beach we returned to the camp and had a rest
watching the world go by. Jo and Dean came over and we had fish and chips,
grilled Coral Trout and lots of it. Best fish and chips ever! During our chat,
it turns out that Dean used to play football for Jerramungup againt Maureen’s
brother Roger and they have known each other since. A couple of bottles of wine
later and we called it a night. Tomorrow we expect to get to Australia Zoo.
